Cullen claims third Stanley Cup championship

Longtime Sanford Health advocate and Sanford POWER athlete Matt Cullen helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win an NHL title Sunday with a 2-0 victory over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 of the championship series.

This is the second Stanley Cup in a row for the 40-year-old Cullen and the third in his 19-year professional career. Pittsburgh is the first team in nearly 20 years to claim consecutive Cups.

Cullen grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota,¬†and attended Moorhead High School. His extensive work with Sanford includes creating the Cully’s Kids Cabin in the new Fargo Medical Center.
