Cullen claims third Stanley Cup championship

Longtime Sanford Health advocate and Sanford POWER athlete Matt Cullen helped the Pittsburgh Penguins win an NHL title Sunday with a 2-0 victory over the Nashville Predators in Game 6 of the championship series.

This is the second Stanley Cup in a row for the 40-year-old Cullen and the third in his 19-year professional career. Pittsburgh is the first team in nearly 20 years to claim consecutive Cups.

Cullen grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota, and attended Moorhead High School. His extensive work with Sanford includes creating the Cully’s Kids Cabin in the new Fargo Medical Center.
