Tips to get the most out of your POWER training
Now that you’ve signed up for sessions at Sanford POWER, get ready for customized training to help meet your athletic goals. Whether it is a personal session, you and some friends, or a large group, there are things you can do to maximize your workout.
- Be on time – even better, show up early, 5-10 minutes; enough to get yourself changed and stuff put away. If your session starts at 4 p.m., be courteous and ready to go at that time. Once you have learned to foam roll from your coach, you could even start foam rolling before your session that way you are ready to go and warmup at 4 p.m.
- Ask questions – if you are unsure of something clarify it with your coach. Not sure why you are doing the drill/exercise? Ask.
- Give your all – you will only get out of your session as much as you put into it. Your coach can give you all the drills and exercises, but if you don’t meet half way and put in the effort you will only get so far.
- Respect yourself – eat well, get enough sleep, drink enough water. If you know you are going to be training, make sure you are ready for that session – i.e. well rested, properly fueled and hydrated
