How to get warmed up before playing golf
Now that the golf season is here, many people are getting the itch to get out and swing their clubs. However, many of you may not be thinking about preparing your body for that first round of golf and hopefully, the many that may follow.
The Sanford POWER Golf Academy teaches a dynamic warm-up for use with all of our students prior to hitting golf balls. This prepares the body for the movements that are required during a golf swing.
Training for golf is one of the most important things a golfer can do. There are many things that go into the golf swing but flexibility, strength, and endurance are three big ones. Training in these areas will help reduce the risk of injury and allow you to move more efficiently when you are golfing. You always want to use golf-specific motions when training and incorporate some of those movements into your warm-up.
Utilizing a golf specific warm-up prior to teeing it up can not only reduce your risk for injury, but research shows that it actually helps to improve your shot accuracy and club head speed.
