The Runner’s Clinic is designed to diagnose, treat and prevent running injuries. Our expert team includes sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, exercise physiologists and clinical biomechanists. We’ll work one-on-one with you to develop a personalized program that will help you achieve your running goals.

A Sanford POWER physical therapist will conduct your evaluation. Our physical therapists are trained in recognizing running injuries, understanding why they occur and how to prevent them. All of our evaluations begin by learning about your health and training history, including current or past injuries.

Your physical therapist will then perform a complete physical exam to test for strength, flexibility, muscular imbalances and pain. We use high-speed video cameras (100 fps) as well as the Simi Aktisys automated motion capture system. This cutting-edge technology provides precise biomechanical assessments for real-time biofeedback and slow-motion playback.

If we identify biomechanical issues or improper form, we’ll work with you to improve your running technique. Your physical therapist will provide recommendations to treat existing injuries and prevent new ones from occurring.
