Sanford POWER Basketball Academy and ECI Basketball collaborate for youth training

Sanford POWER Basketball Academy and ECI Basketball are partnering to advance the basketball skills of middle school and high school basketball players. Sanford POWER Basketball Academy offers a skill-development program that will improve every level of basketball player. The academy is designed to teach the game, push the athlete and help achieve and exceed his or her athletic goals. ECI offers athletes the opportunity to play Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball during the spring and summer months.

ECI“Our ECI program is very excited about the partnership with the Sanford POWER Basketball Academy and Freddy Coleman. This will allow our athletes to not only take their game to another level through workouts focusing on skill development and fundamentals, but to learn how to improve their body off the court with resources Sanford POWER offers such as lifting and nutrition,” said Lucas Moormann, ECI Basketball director.

The ECI Basketball program offers boys from North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana the opportunity to try out for a position on a traveling competitive basketball team.

“When it comes to AAU Basketball in North Dakota, ECI is the most recognizable name and has had so many great coaches and players in the past. Luke and I both shared the same goals when we started to discuss the collaboration. We want to help athletes reach their basketball goals and take North Dakota basketball to a new level. All this will happen with skill development and hard work,” said Coleman.

Tryouts for the ECI Basketball teams are March 2019. ECI was founded in 2004 and stands for “Every Child’s Important.” Sanford POWER will be the preferred strength and conditioning provider of ECI. Sanford POWER is in its 20th year of developing athletes and has full-time operations in Fargo and Bismarck.

Coleman and Moormann both played NCAA Division I basketball at North Dakota State University in Fargo. Moormann played from 2004 to 2009, while Coleman played from 2006 to 2011.
