Ben Kinne

Sports Academy Specialist

Ben Kinne is a Sports Academy Specialist at Sanford POWER. Ben Kinne graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall High School in 2006. He earned all-state honorable mention honors while helping lead the Raiders to the Minnesota State High School League state title.

Ben attended Bemidji State University to obtain his Sport Management and Business Administration degee. Kinne played four seasons of Division I hockey at Bemidji State (MN) under head coach Tom Serratore. He was a two-time captain and made the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s (WCHA) all-academic team for three seasons. In his four seasons with Bemidji State, he compiled 32 goals and 44 assists. Additionally, he played in two NCAA National Championship Tournaments, participating in the Frozen Four during the 2008- 09 season. Prior to his time at Bemidji State, while skating for the Topeka Roadrunners (NAHL), he recorded 20 goals and 17 assists in 59 games. Kinne then played for the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL) for one season, tallying 17 goals and 26 assists in 60 games.

Kinne recently completed two seasons as the director of hockey operations at the Air Force Academy. Kinne came to the Academy from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL) where he served as an assistant coach for three seasons. Prior to his time in Cedar Rapids, he worked as an assistant coach at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota (NCAA Division III) from 2014–16 and helped guide the team to their first winning season since 2003–04.

Kinne strives to help athletes develop on and off the ice.

Ben Kinne and his wife, Bri, have two children.

Matt Morris

Supervisor, Wellness and Athletic Training

Matt Morris is a Supervisor of Wellness and Athletic Training at Sanford POWER. He attended undergraduate school at Minnesota State University, Mankato (2005-2008) and graduate school at Bemidji State University (2012-2014.) Morris obtained a combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree as a Licensed Athletic Trainer.Morris has worked with athletes of all ages and sports over the past 13 years. He has been a part of starting numerous outreach programs and recently was a part of launching Sanford POWER in Bemidji.

In his free time, Matt enjoys woodworking and tending to his flower gardens.

Jon Laakso, MS-ATC, LAT

Sanford / BHS Athletic Trainer

Jon Laakso is a Lead Athletic Trainer at Sanford POWER and Bemidji High School. He attended Luther College and then furthered his education at Indiana University. Jon is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) which is a professional member association for certified athletic trainers and others who support the athletic training profession. He also is a member of the Minnesota Board of Certification (BOC). Jon has 30+ years of experience as a high school athletic trainer and has worked with the United States Hockey League (USHL) which is the top junior ice hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey. Jon strives to work with his athletes to ease pain and prevent injury along with promoting wellness and outdoor sports. Some of Jon’s hobbies include fishing, hunting, mountain biking, skiing, woodworking, and gardening.

Anders Lindstrom, MA-ATC

Athletic Trainer
Anders Lindstrom is an Athletic Trainer at Sanford POWER. He attended Bemidji State University to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (2012-2014) and then furthered his education at North Dakota State University where he obtained his Master of Science in Athletic Training (2014-2016). Anders did an internship with Minnesota Hockey Camp in Nisswa, MN in 2015. He was also the recipient of the Buck and Honey Isrow Family Scholarship with NDSU in 2016. Anders is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC) (2016) and Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (2017). Anders has work experience with all t three divisions of NCAA athletics, and have worked at high schools across Minnesota and North Dakota. Anders provides evidence-based care to athletes and patients across all backgrounds, cultures, and lifestyles with an emphasis on safety and education. Most of his free time is spent with his pointing lab, Finn. Other activities involve archery, waterfowl/upland game hunting, and fishing year-round.

Aryn Ball

Sanford / BHS Athletic Trainer
Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Aryn Ball is an Athletic Trainer (ATC) at Sanford POWER. She attended St. Catherine University to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and furthered her education by obtaining her Master of Science in Athletic Training from College of St. Scholastica. Aryn has been working at Sanford since May 2016, starting as an athletic trainer for Bemidji high school. Her hobbies include fitness activities, softball, hockey and spending time on the lake.

Nathan Foote

Exercise Specialist
Nathan Foote is an Exercise Specialist at Sanford POWER. He attended Bemidji State University and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Nathan is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist as well as a Certified Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach. Nathan has a history of leading group fitness classes in both healthcare and sports athletic settings. He has worked with a variety of patients of all ages and ability levels. Nathan believes that anything is possible when a patient or athlete is given the right tools and has a knowledgeable professional by their side. He also believes that exercise and a healthy diet are the best form of medicine. Nathan enjoys fishing, hunting, being outdoors, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his dog, Pete.


Kailey Carlin

Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Kailey CarlinKailey Carlin is a Strength and Conditioning Specialist at Sanford POWER. She attended Bemidji State University (2015-2017) and Minnesota State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (2017-2018). She had an internship with the Russell & Ann Gerdin Wellness Center in Moorhead (2018). Throughout her high school career, she received many golf awards, including: All-State Girls Golf (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), All Conference Champ Girls Golf (2012, 2014, 2015; 2nd Place 2013), and T-3rd Class A MN State Girls Golf Tournament (2014). Kailey has worked with numerous age groups from coaching youth at Summer Rec, fitness staff at MSUM wellness center, and in a rehabilitation therapy setting at Sanford. She also worked at a power lifting competition in college. Kailey enjoys golfing, volleyball, rollerblading, skating, water sports, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with her fiancé, family and friends.

Cameron Boen

Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Cameron Boen is a Strength and Conditioning Specialist at Sanford POWER. He attended Bemidji State University to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (2017-2020). Boen also did internships with Training HAUS in Eagan, MN (04/19) and Choice Therapy, Bemidji, MN (10/20). Boen also have professional memberships and certifications as a ACSM Sports Physiologist and ACSM Professional Member.

Boen has worked in various health care/fitness settings as a phlebotomist, physical therapy technician, strength and conditioning coach, and baseball coach. He has authored and instituted multiple strength programs while providing in depth education on both health and wellness to his patients and clients.

Boen has a passion for health and wellness which is best displayed within his lifestyle and teaching style. He strives to help others achieve their best self physically and mentally by instituting fitness and nutrition into their everyday lives.

When not working, Cameron Boen enjoys spending his time enjoying all that Minnesota has to offer. The lake has always been a priority in the summer, bow hunting in the fall and occasionally time on the mountain in the winters. He also has a 2-year-old chocolate lab who keeps him always moving.
